Dorrian Richardson

Academic Advisor

Dorrian Richardson is an Academic Advisor/Academic Success Coach in the Division of Academic Affairs who assists students regarding educational, personal, occupational, and social goals/needs or issues.  She has ten years of service and dedication to the college and is often referred to as” Momma Richardson” by the students on campus.  

Besides assisting students with their academic needs, Dorrian is a Certified Apple Teacher, a Certified Life/Stress and Grief Coach, has experience in the Academic Records Office, and also facilitates in the Department of Academic Foundations with teaching first-year level courses such as Orientation to the Academy (FYA 101).  She has completed continuing education hours toward an extended second master’s degree in Student Affairs. She participates in several programs and committees on campus, including the Jumpstart program, Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) committee, and the Senior Graduation Committee.  She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, Tau Beta Sigma Honorary Band Sorority, Inc., and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., where she assists the young ladies of her sorority as their undergraduate on-campus advisor. 

As a graduate of Miles College and with a Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership, Dorrian is highly passionate about the educational journey for her fellow Mileans. One of her main goals is to lead her students to greatness as they receive the “traditional” Dear Ole Miles Experience.
