HOW TO SEARCH THE ON-LINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOG
The holdings of the LRC are placed on an automated database in the On-Line Public Access Catalog (OPAC). Patrons may use this catalog just as they would a standard card catalog to locate needed materials.
OPAC FEATURES
Basically, materials are listed by author, subject and title, allowing users direct access regardless of the entry point.
Users May:
  • View a listing of all copies of a particular title
  • Find out whether the needed item is in or out
  • Locate an item on the shelf by the call number
  • Search for an item by author, title, subject, keyword, International Standard Book Number (ISBN), or by serial number (ISSN), publication date, format type, and language qualifiers.
  • Conduct a sophisticated search using Boolean operators And, Or, Not. For example, the user may look for an author and title in one search.
  • Search a particular library or all libraries in the group or system.
  • Generate a bibliography
  • View events on the Online Bulletin Board related to library hours, events, and floor plans.
