ABOUT THE LIBRARY

The Learning Resources Center is functionally arranged for ease of accessibility. The First Level houses the Bruno Computer Lab, classrooms, offices, the television studio, and the Media Center. The Second Level is devoted to general library services such as circulation, reference, periodicals, the OPAC, library administrative offices, and technical services. The Third Level contains the Mattie Jackson African American Center, College and CME Church Archives, back issues of periodicals, Wilson indexes, microfilm and microfiche materials with their accompanying hardware.
The philosophy underlying the total Learning Resources Program at Miles College—that the LRC is an instructional service agency for all areas and divisions—has made the LRC the research and distribution center for all types of instructional resources in a variety of formats. Open access provides easy accessibility to the needed materials.

Loan service is extended to all students, faculty and staff who wish to use the materials for research activity, recreational reading or for other educational purposes.
The collection numbers approximately 100,000 volumes including books, bound periodicals, and a growing collection of multi-media materials and equipment. The facility has the capability of housing more than 200,000 volumes and seating more than 750 individuals.
